Hey guys, recently, I was invited by one of my favorite food bloggers, Kim of Liv Life, to guestpost on her blog. What an honor and a great opportunity to be introduced to her readers! Of course, I jumped at the chance!
The biggest dilemma for me was to pick the right recipe. I wanted something simple, yummy and gorgeous. I hope you agree that these Strawberry Corn Cakes with Brown Sugar Whipped Cream is just the ticket!
Be sure to check out my guest post on Liv Life's beautiful blog, and give this recipe a try for dessert tonight!

Whoa, did someone say it's National Grilled Cheese Day? Grilled cheese happens to be an All-Time Family Favorite in my house!
I'm not the biggest fan of avovado, but my in honor of my mom, who just celebrated her Birthday, I thought I'd make a Grilled Cheddar, Avocado, and Bacon on Sourdough. This is one of her favorites.
We like to try things other than the typical American Cheese slices when we make our grilled cheese. Sometimes we use cheddar, jack, havarti, even gouda, and throw some turkey, ham or bacon in there. It's yummy to add different ingredients on different breads. You never know, you might come up with a delicious new favorite sandwich like my famous Grilled PB&J on Raisin Bread !
Grill up some sandwiches today!

Hey Peeps! It's Easter, and after seeing some cute little marshmallow nests, we thought we'd make some ourselves, but with a few of our own twists. Well, you know how I LOVE Nutella? We thought we'd make them special with Nutella and chocolate. They came out sooooo cute, and yummmmy! We made sure to perch a Peep and some Robin's Eggs candies on top, and we love them! Even better, they are easy and fast to make. It probably took us abou 30-40 minutes. You should give them a try!
Prep your muffin tins by spraying with non-stick spray
The Star Ingredients
Melt and Stir butter, marshmallows, chocolate chips & Nutella
Stir until well-combined
Add the chow mein noodles and rice crispies, then stir some more
Stir until well-combined, like this
Spoon about 1/4 cup into each muffin cup, and press down in the middle with the back of a spoon to make an indent
Now for the fun part, decorating the nests! You can use Peeps,
Robin's Eggs, or Reeses Peanut Butter Eggs.
Look how cute!
Mom says they make a great centerpiece for Easter
Here's how to make them:
1/4 Cup Nutella
6oz. Chocolate Chips
3Cups Chow Mein Noodles
2Cups Rice Crispie Cereal
Marshmallow Peeps, Robin Eggs, Reeses Peanut Butter Eggs
In a large saucepan, melt the butter, marshmallows, chocolate chips, and Nutella over medium heat, stirring until melted and combined.
Stir in Rice Crispies and Chow Mein Noodles until they are all coated.
Spoon about 1/4 of the mixture into each muffin tin cup, press the middle down with the back of a spoon to compress each one, and make an indentation.
Decorate nests with Peeps and Robin Egg candies. Have fun, and enjoy your creations. Happy Easter!!
Easter is almost here!!! I know you guys all love a delicious ham dinner and maybe you are asking "What would be the perfect side dish?" You have come to the right place because we have a super easy recipe for Fresh Cheesy Scalloped Potatoes, which happens to be the PERFECT Easter side dish! It is my brother and my favorite. The best part is, it's made of FRESH ingredients, not out of a box. Hope you try it!
The key ingredients
Peel and thinly slice 5 Russett Potatoes, and place in a saucepan
Add cream or half&half, salt, pepper, garlic, nutmeg, and simmer on stovetop 'til potatoes get tender. DO NOT BOIL!
Transfer to a casserole dish
Top with your favorite cheese. We used a sharp white cheddar, and...
a mild yellow cheddar. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 1 hour to 1 hour 20 min.
Enjoy the most scrumptuous creamy cheesy potatoes ever!!!
Here's the recipe:
~5 medium russet potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced, about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick
~2 cups heavy cream (I used this) or half and half or 1 cup of milk and 1 cup of cream
~Kosher salt (or garlic salt) and black pepper, to taste
~A sprinkling of nutmeg
~1 1/2-2 tsp crushed garlic
~2 cups cheddar, grated (once we used 1 cup cheddar, one cup grated gouda--YUM). You can vary the type of cheeses here...just use 2 cups!
1.Preheat your oven to 350°.
2.To speed up the baking time, preheat the potatoes and cream mixture: Put the sliced potatoes into a large saucepan with the salt, pepper, nutmeg, garlic and cream. Toss gently to coat evenly. Bring to a simmer for just a few minutes. Once the potatoes are heated through they are ready for the oven.
3.Pour the steaming hot potatoes into a pretty oven- proof casserole dish. Sprinkle the top with the grated cheese. Bake uncovered for 1 hour to 1 hour 20 min, checking after 1 hour. The potatoes will be tender and the cheese bubbling and golden.

I love candy of course because I'm a kid. So there's this local candy store called Sweeeties. Its HUGE! HUMUNGO is an understatement! Theres all sorts of candy- old 1960s bubblegum cigars to the everyday, easy to get anywhere KitKats! Well a whole aisle was completely reserved for a jumbo supply of my favorite easter treat: Peeps!!! So many- there were the average and the not-so-average kinds of peeps. Here are a few we encountered:
BIG CHOCOLATE COVERED PEEPS!
MINI CHOCOLATE COVERED PEEPS!
CRISPY RICE MARSHMALLOW TREATS!(bunny)
CRISPY RICE MARSHMALLOW TREATS!(chick)
After trying them all, my favorite had to be the chocolate covered peep. My brother's fave was the Crispy Rice Marshmallow Treats. My mom goes for the traditional Peep.
So there you go, there's a Peep for everyone in the family this Easter!!!
