It's getting CHILI!!

Sorry I've been absent for a while. I 've been working on some recipe contests with my mom. Let you know how that goes when we find out.

So, let's talk about one of my favorites: nice warm chili is UBER GOOD on a cold winter day. It wraps you in a warm hug filled with tastiness. Perfect if you have a nasty cold like I do today. It is full of protein, calcium and antioxidants.  We use ground turkey, kidney beans, black beans, onions, garlic, tomato sauce, of course, and chili seasonings.  Garnished with shredded jack and cheddar and a dollop of sour cream to add coolness . My mom loves hers with crushed Fritos on top as well.  It's a dish that everyone loves!

Just add some crusty french bread, and I think you've got the perfect SUPERBOWL SUNDAY meal.  I guarantee you that you will enjoy this meal as much as you enjoy a cup of cocoa and a movie on a rainy day.

Birthday Tea Party

Yellow-HELLO!  Hope you had a Happy New Year!  I have been keeping busy with the holidays, and recently celebrated my 11th birthday!

I decided that this year, since I am getting older, I wanted to have a smaller party, with just my closest friends.  I had never had a tea party before, so decided to try one at home.  My mom was nice enough to share her wedding china for us to use, and we made it very fancy. Scones, mini sandwiches, a beautiful giant bouquet of roses. All the essential needs for a perfect tea party.

We had a variety of tea samples such as blueberry and raspberry and many desserts like  mini cakes and chocolate covered strawberries. For a petite lunch, instead of those soggy, old cucumber sandwiches, I suggest using mini crossants and lay out all the condiments and such for guests to choose. It not only tastes better but also, friends might enjoy it a bit more. Finally, DESSERT!!! We had delicious desserts including: chocolate covered strawberries, mini sponge cakes with berries, and toffee-carmel scones. (Which by the way, was my FAVE!) So now that you know the properly inspired... Whip out those old recipes from your grandmother, dig up your dusty china set from your attic, and call over some of your best girlfriends to throw a tea party. They will surely LOVE IT! I know we did.
